Westbriar Civic Association
Established in 1959, this active association of residents serves the community known as the Westbriar area. Generally speaking, Westbriar surrounds the Westwood Country Club Golf Course in the Town of Vienna Virginia. The map at the bottom of this page can be expanded to show the exact boundaries and membership addresses.
Westbriar has the distinction of being the oldest continually active Civic Association in Vienna. The purpose of the Association is to promote the civic interests of its members in matters of a public nature, particularly in regard to interactions with Vienna town government, Fairfax County government, and private development interests in the Tyson Corner area. The Association does not endorse as such the program or platform of any political party or candidates.
The Association raises operating funds by annual assessment of a membership fee, (currently $10 per household) The fees are usually collected in December during distribution of Luminaria materials.
There are no salaries paid to Association officers; our work is purely voluntary, and we welcome all members to support our efforts with your time as well as your annual fee.
The luminaria is a tradition that started when this subdivision was carved out of the pastures and cornfields of a much younger Vienna. It is a beautiful sight, a treat to slowly drive through with your car's parking lights only, and has even been broadcast on TV from the perspective of the station's airplane flying overhead. It truly makes Westbriar special in the holiday season.
