Major Construction Coming! Old Courthouse Rd – Sept 2025

Fairfax County is finalizing the design for an upgrade to the wastewater conveyance system in our area. The installation of the new system will begin in September 2025 and involve major construction along Old Courthouse Rd for 0.6 miles heading west from Westwood Dr before veering through parkland to cross Wolftrap Creek. The construction will be a moving “work zone” as pipe installation progresses. Construction safety will be addressed through chain link fences in easements, jersey barriers, and steel plates covering trenches during off hours in roadways. The duration of construction in this area is estimated to be four months. Although Zones E and F will bear the brunt of the inconvenience, patience will be needed by anyone who travels Old Courthouse Rd or uses the Foxstone/Wolftrap-Stream-Valley parks.
